Tight operational deadlines and import supply chain problems kept them team on their toes right up to the event start - but problem-solving sits firmly in BTV’s DNA.
More great players have signed up to LIV Golf, and more broadcast deals were in place. With additional sponsorship and media partners on site, huge stakeholder management qualities were needed, alongside the technical innovation required for a global sporting event played in the darkness of night. All with the flurry of world-class entertainment and activations that accompanied it.
With that additional broadcast attention comes more network complexity and the need to ensure that fans, media, and sponsors enjoyed a state-of-the-art, cutting-edge sporting experience like no other.

1000+ lighting fixtures

BTV was borne out of a need to apply technical expertise, innovation and critical problem-solving to major sporting events in 2025.
No-one is more experienced at understanding how to optimise darkness to make lighting to elevate branding and event aesthetics to the limit.
The numbers were incredible.
A converged network of extraordinary complexity was required to ensure all parts of the operation spoke to each other harmoniously, from the 1,000 lasers and light fitting plus the IPTV network and entertainment equipment over a 5km2 site. Over 70 TVs were installed in various hospitality and media venues, branded lighting at every tee box, camera tower branding and around 1,100 native palm trees were used as temporary lighting structures. Over 20-high-pressure pumps were in place for a stunning water fountain installation at the 18th hole lake.
This was in addition to the ShotGun Start pyrotechnics and laser shows at the Range, Fan Zone and half-time shows with which LIV Golf has become synonymous. And for good measure, stunning lighting and set-planning for the entertainment in the shape of The Backstreet Boys and DJ Snake.
"From the moment I found out we were going to play under the lights, I've been really excited. It's all about what LIV Golf is all about. It's innovating and creating a new product for the consumer."

50 x lasers to create the background for the night action
3 nights of stellar competitive golf, 4 nights of practice under lights
7km of fibre, 6km of copper to connect the event to the world
The event saw record-breaking crowds with the biggest daily attendances for any golf event staged in KSA, and was a spectacle which again showcased golf’s ability to put on a show.
The combination of stunning visuals, atmospheric sound, engaging fan activations, dazzling evening music entertainment all combined to produce a new icon at the start of the calendar year for world golf.
The BTV team made key strategic decisions under considerable time and technical challenges to make sure fans and global audiences went away more than satisfied. The event showcased BTV’s ability to think quickly on their feet whatever the logistical issues in play.
